I received a Ph.D. in computer science from Duke University. My advisors
were Alvy Lebeck and Dan Sorin. I'd been with Intel in
Hillsboro, Oregon, for close to eight years, initially as research
scientist on operating system support for emerging architectures, then
architect of the CPU core for the Intel CoreTM
and XeonTM lines of microprocessor products (Haswell, Broadwell
and beyond). Currently, I'm an architect at Lenovo.
I was on the selection committee for IEEE Micro Top Picks 2016.
